Our Story
A mother on a mission to find the root cause, ultimately leading to a cure. As a mother does, I was all in; driven by a dedication to health & wellness! Our journey began in 2009 when our oldest child was diagnosed with Severe Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. In less than 6 months her health quickly deteriorated, no longer able to perform simple daily tasks. As one can imagine, it was a living nightmare, witnessing your child struggle with every day activities & decreased quality of life.
We found ourselves scared, alone & seeking answers. Upon diagnosis, she was treated aggressively with immune suppressing medication; methotrexate, Enbrel & steroids. While there are brilliant discoveries in modern day medicine, western medicine was ignoring the root cause. Treatment protocols lacked individual care, side effects were causing additional suffering & further suppressing her immune system. We were drowning in a vicious cycle of unanswered questions, treatments which gave false hope; followed by short bouts of medicated remission(s). We felt powerless & in turmoil of a potentially grim future.
My instincts took over, I began listening to my inner voice & started asking the hard questions, sought a team of integrated doctors, & began focusing on her whole body. We focused on diet, balancing body systems, repair, & natural plant based medicine & supplements. Her body responded immediately & healing began.
The world of herbalism is a gift. Herbal medicine gives us perseverance & a means to long term relief from imbalances.

My primary role as an herbalist is to treat people as individuals irrespective of the disease or condition they have, stimulating the body’s innate healing power while exploring natural interventions. Lifestyle changes, diet, environment, spiritual, herbal remedies & supplements are all part of the typical healing modalitie(s). Many conditions, both chronic & acute, respond well to herbal therapies & shifts in ones life. Quick fixes are neither promised nor should be expected. Disease takes time to present, it can take double that time to re-balance. In the end it is the client’s willingness to make permanent lifestyle changes.
While herbal medicine has been helpful to many people, herbs alone are limited in how much they can accomplish. To achieve complete lifestyle benefits & long lasting results, one must take a sincere look at the cause of the imbalance & be willing to make the necessary changes. My role as an herbalist is to provide both the information & support to make those changes possible! Herbal medicine is people’s medicine & should be accessible to all. The focus is on education & empowerment, rather than dependence on the practitioner.
