A Mother’s Mission

In 2009, our oldest child was diagnosed with Severe Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Within months, she went from a vibrant, capable young girl to a child who could barely manage the simplest daily tasks. Watching her struggle — watching her body betray her — was a kind of heartbreak that no mother is ever prepared for.

We did what any terrified parents would do: we handed her over to the experts and hoped for a miracle.

She was treated with aggressive immunosuppressants — methotrexate, Enbrel, and steroids. And while modern medicine has its brilliance, we were met with a system that treated symptoms, not causes. Each drug brought more side effects, more questions, and less of our daughter.

We felt powerless.
We felt alone.
And we felt the quiet truth rising inside us: this wasn’t healing.

Turning Toward the Root

My instincts finally demanded a seat at the table. I began asking harder questions, assembling a team of integrative and functional providers, and looking at her whole body — not just her joints.

We shifted everything:
• food
• gut repair
• natural plant medicine
• toxins
• infections
• environmental factors
• nervous system support

And something remarkable happened…
Her body began to heal.
Slowly at first. Then steadily. Then undeniably.

That journey — the sleepless nights, the research, the hope, the collapse, the rebuilding — became the foundation of Alicorn Apothecary.

It didn’t just heal her.
It transformed me.

What Herbal Medicine Gave Us

Herbalism didn’t just give us remedies.
It gave us a way back to ourselves —
a way to understand the body, trust its wisdom, support its innate healing,
and step out of fear and into empowerment.

Autoimmune disease is rising. People are becoming more unwell.
Yet nature continues to offer what she always has:
plants, nourishment, resilience, and a remembering of what wholeness feels like.

Alicorn Apothecary exists so you never have to walk the healing path alone.
We are a tribe, a community, a lantern in the dark when the conventional path leaves you without answers.

My role is to meet each person as an individual — not a diagnosis. Herbalism honors the whole human: body, mind, spirit, history, environment, nourishment, and story.

I support clients by:
• stimulating the body’s innate healing power
• exploring natural interventions
• supporting diet + digestion
• addressing environment and lifestyle
• integrating herbal remedies, teas, tinctures, and nutraceuticals
• teaching, empowering, and guiding

Healing takes time.
Symptoms don’t appear overnight, and true rebalance requires patience, willingness, and lifestyle shifts. Quick fixes are not real — but transformation absolutely is.

Herbal medicine is the people’s medicine.
My job is not to be the healer — my job is to help you remember that you are.
